The Korean War

The War which almost completely destroyed South Korea

South Korea, nearly wiped out by North Korea's surprise attack

Are you interested in Korea's history?
If so, how much do you know about the Korean War?
Did you know that Stallin and Kim Il Seung plotted and executed a surprise attack against South Korea which nearly erased it from the Earth?

The Korean War began in the 25th of June 1950, about 4o'clock in the morning.
However Kim Il Seung had already carefully planned the Korean War since 1949.
He frequently visited Mo Tek Dong(China) and Stallin(Soviet Union) in order to get their backup, which he managed to get.
When North Korea executed the surprise attack against the South the North was already equipped with tanks and weapons from the Soviet Union, while the South did not possess a single tank.
The North charged against the defenseless South with fighters, 242 tanks and mortars.
It was an impossible battle for the South.
The South was utterly crushed and was quickly pushed back.

General Douglas MacArthur's combined amphibious landing at Incheon

Seoul was captured after 3days and in abouth a month the South was pushed back until its final defence line, the Nak-Dong river.
However, General Douglas MacArthur successfully accomplished the combined amphibious landing at Incheon, deep behind the North Korean lines, which was considered as an impossible mission.
Seoul was recaptured and the South slowly advanced towards the North.

With the help of the United States and the UN, it seemed as though unification was possible.
However, Kim Il Seung asked for help to Mo Tek Dong(China).
Unfortunately for the South, the Chinese War had just finished and China had lots of veteran soldiers ready for war.
China move attacked by using "human wave tactics" and "guerrilla warfare."
Both sides were pushing and being pushed near the "38th parallel line" until the a truce was signed in the 27th July, 1953.

The Korean War was devastating for the South.
Casualties were over a million, which 85% were civilians.

Most facilities in the South were destroyed.
The economy crumbled and there were very few ways to raise back up the economy.
Nobody wanted to invest in a country were there was nothing to gain from.
However, the South overcame all those difficulties and developed into a technology, economy giant.

The North, having forgotten the sorrow from the Korean War, is causing tension in the Korean peninsula.

The necessity of the ability to drive North Korea back

  North Korea is unpredictable.
I am guessing that North Korea is currently having great difficulties economically due to its mistaken policy.
It is also having problems concerning power, as there seems to be a change of regime.
It seems as though the North is trying to solve both problems by causing a ruckus.
However, another Korean War must not be tolerated.
Another tragedy as such in the 21st century must not be consented.
The international society must pressure harder on the North so that it will abandon all of its hidden programs and finally open up for an honest, multi-lateral talks.
